Mice. Oh so cute. If only they didn't leave their little evidence everywhere. Last year, a little mouse got into my apartment. I heard some chewing in the walls at night for quite a while but couldn't figure out exactly where it was coming from. I went out of town for a weekend, and when I came home I saw little pieces of cat food on the kitchen floor. This was very curious, considering that I do not have a cat.

What had happened was that this little mouse had chewed through the wall in my pantry while I was gone and went straight for the emergency bag of cat food I keep on hand for when I find strays. I quickly cleaned up the little mess that he had made, and I searched for the point of entry. I found his little escape route and I plugged up the hole with some steel wool. I then proceeded to clean my whole kitchen with peppermint-scented soap and essential peppermint oil (mice are not fans of peppermint!).

Thinking that I had dealt with this issue, I went to sleep right after baking some vegan apple-raisin muffins—leaving the muffins out on the counter to cool. I woke up in the morning, ready to have a muffin for breakfast, and—all the muffin tops had been eaten! This was so cute and so frustrating all at the same time-all I could think of were his tiny little hands holding the crumbs and chewing incessantly on the treasure that he had discovered as I slept.

If you build it, they will come, and things can get a bit exasperating if you don’t solve the problem completely. Over the next couple of days, I did a thorough check of my whole apartment and found two more holes that he was using to go in and out. I sealed those up, and things have been mouse-free ever since.

You can always use a humane trap and release the mice into the wild :)

Christians Unite With Animal Advocates Against Cockfighting

For roosters who are forced to fight to the death, it’s a match made in heaven. The Humane Society of the United States is working with Christian groups, such as the Palmetto Family Council, to strengthen laws against this blood sport. Their efforts are focused in South Carolina, where penalties aren’t harsh enough to suppress the fights.

Currently, cockfighting is classified as a felony in 39 states; yet it remains a misdemeanor in 11 states, including South Carolina.

Clearly, cockfighting should be a felony. Yet let’s not forget that approximately nine billion chickens each year suffer unimaginable cruelties before their trip to the processing plant — all because there’s a demand for their flesh. Why is this legal?

My motivation for writing this blog is my desire to motivate other Christians to leave cruelty behind and embrace compassion. To become more Christ-like. If we ask ourselves WWJD, before we act, we make the world a better place.

When I saw the conditions farmed animals are forced to endure, and the torture inflicted upon them to satisfy the lust of the flesh, the gluttony of the gut, and the hardness of heart, I turned from it.  I felt a huge darkness leave me, I felt cleaner.  I am not saying it is a sin to eat animals, but it is a sin to support the torture and abuse of them.  

I will establish immediately that God did give permission to eat animals the day he placed the fear of man in them, that was the day Noah stepped off the ark, it was not so at creation.

I find some of the greatest resistance to veganism,
 from other Christians. Why?
Brainwashing by the media i suppose :(
The bible does not force anyone to eat the flesh of animals.

Ultimately the plan of God is for us to be vegan. Don't take my word for it, read genesis 1:29-31


I ask a simple question, 
"What would Jesus do?"

Do you truly believe He would condone whats going on?

Some Christians seem to think living in the way described after "The Fall" is somehow better than the way God intended us to live.

I can't get my head around it.

30and to every animal of the earth, and to every fowl of
